Mining
Open pit mining capability across mine development, production mining, load and haul, material movement and ROM management.
VMS delivers scalable open pit mining services across multiple commodities and operating environments throughout Australia. Our Mining division works from early site establishment and overburden stripping through bulk mining, active production, load and haul, material movement and ROM management. Mining activity is delivered against client mine plans, production targets, processing requirements and site constraints. VMS Mining can be engaged as a standalone contract, or, where the work extends beyond mining, our other divisions come under the same delivery structure – keeping production alignment, cost control and accountability with one contractor.
Production fleet, machine control and operational oversight
VMS owns and operates a modern production fleet for high-volume open pit mining. Primary production equipment is fitted with GPS machine control, fleet monitoring systems and Loadrite payload technology, enabling accurate material tracking, load optimisation and reliable production reporting.
Fleet configuration and daily mining activity are planned around the mine plan, pit geometry, stripping ratios, material classifications, movement targets and downstream requirements. We maintain our own fleet through in-house fleet management and maintenance team, keeping machinery available and reliable across the life of the project. Structured maintenance and equipment oversight hold high fleet availability on site, reducing downtime and protecting production continuity.
